Courier 4 You was started by North East based owner, Ian Butters, and is the culmination of his many years of experience in the industry as an independent courier going back to 2005.
Ian cut his teeth by gaining customers locally in Tyne and Wear, largely by word of mouth, and supplementing that work by subcontracting himself as an owner driver to larger courier, haulage, and logistics firms.
This gave Ian a unique insight into both sides of the industry – both as a sole trader with his own small customer base as well as seeing the pro’s and cons that goes with the corporate approach.
Ian soon encountered and spoke with the customers of large enterprises, learning they were often dissatisfied with the service from large national firms at the administration level. They felt they were ‘just another customer’ among thousands and received very little support.
Over the years Ian gained more and more contacts and finally decided to set up something with a more personal feel to it. He embarked on a mission to provide local businesses in Tyne and Wear with a local alternative.
It made no sense for a North East company to use the services of a courier firm based in Birmingham or London when he could provide the very same services locally and better.
There was room in the market for a reliable local courier service. Today, Ian now focuses his time on servicing the needs of customers and personally oversees every booking in order to ensure that every box is ticked. He tracks all deliveries in real time using state-of-the-art technology and is in constant contact with the drivers to make sure customers can be kept fully up to date on how their delivery or collection is progressing.
Ian believes these are the personal touches that differentiate his services from many others.
